what to wear for family pictures – tinley park family and child photographer

Once a session is booked one of the questions asked my many client is

Well I know as a mom of three and a husband that is not as easy to coordinate but it is possible!

I always tell people to first get an idea for the feel you want and if you know you are replacing a picture in one frame what would look good there.  You want the colors to compliment your home and decor.

Next I tell people to look in your closets – as you may have some starting points so you are not shopping for everyone.  I also encourage everyone to be comfortable.  Well I know yoga pants and a fleece may be your idea of comfy on a fall day {not the look you are going for}, so I mean something you are comfortable sitting and standing in and makes you feel happy.

And I often get asked about colors.  I say pick 2-3 colors and work them into your clothing – could be accessories but adding color makes great contrast in pictures.  Adding a splash of color through accessories; scarves; cardigans; will add dimension and texture to a picture.

Last I encourage that if you are shopping try to get something that will be worn again – makes it easier for you to buy.

Here are some examples of color coordination from recent sessions.

Hopefully that helps with What to Wear to a Photo Session.
